As part of my continued professional development, I attended a workshop in Cambridgeshire where a Forensic Linguist taught us how to write Expert Reports for use in legal disputes. The reports have to be presented in a manner which is acceptable to the Judge and the legal teams involved.
The purpose of the course was to instruct the attendees on how to produce reports in a concise and orderly manner, establishing the facts and providing an expert opinion on the matter in dispute.
It was a long way to go but the course was extremely informative. Lots of tips were learned which I am sure will stand me in good stead as the reports are often subject to cross-examination by a Barrister in a court of law.
The course was hosted by the Property Care Association at head office.
